Who are our students, and which region are they from?
We are investing heavily into advertising. We are running Google Ad campaigns focussed on South America, Europe, Middle east, India, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan currently.
When is the peak time for students to book lessons?
This is currently difficult to anticipate. We are getting data from Google analytics which show that depending on location, these times vary significantly by region. Saturday seems to be the most popular day for lesson bookings currently.
What is the minimum amount a tutor can transfer from his/her wallet?
£1 (GBP)
How do we get support /BOT to respond to queries in real time?
There may be a real time query function in the future. We have the tech capability for this. However, there are a few key considerations. Do we allow an outside agency to answer these questions for us? Is this in line with our values at TEO? Do we want even want bots answering questions when real human interaction is better (in our opinion)? There are subscription costs for these types of services, and we want to keep our platform commissions low. In the meantime, Lisa and James and the other admin team members are doing their best to answer queries as they arise.
I noticed that I couldn't edit my chat once it's posted. Can that be looked into?
There are three dots to the right of a message where you can delete a comment. We will have a look at the possibility of an "edit” function but I’m unable to give a timeline on that currently.
Is there a column for notes to the student or the tutor (privately) apart from the chat box?
During lessons, only the chat box; Outside of lessons a messenger tool; And for tutors personal/ private notes there is a place to the left of the lesson window before or during a lesson. Tutors will receive email notifications whenever there is a message, payment, booking, update etc.
Can we have resource library page? And will this show what levels they are aimed at (e.g. B2, C1 etc.)?
We are looking at developing a subdomain which will be password protected so tutors can share resources, ask questions and give us feedback or suggestions. Having them graded is a great suggestion and we will continue to work on developing these resources at TEO.
Can we sell our own resources?
Yes. We have the capability on our platform to create and sell ‘ courses ’. Your resources could easily be made into sellable courses. The courses creation button is on your tutor dashboards. We suggest having a play with it, figuring out the headings, how to add content etc. They then become available on the platform to purchase. As with all your content, you set the prices, and we take the same flat commission rate of sales.
Are there specific payment platforms authorised by TEO? Do we support Wise payouts?
We have Stripe, PayPal and bank transfer options currently. We are currently absorbing the PayPal Payout costs ourselves as part of our service, so tutors receive the full amounts from their lessons since this seems to be the quickest payout option out there. We are looking at how to integrate other methods, but I can't give you a timeline on that yet.
Can a tutor withdraw earnings at any time?
A tutor can request a wallet withdrawal at any time. Currently, we can only authorise these payments in standard UK banking hours which is Monday to Friday 9 am – 5pm. The actual times when the funds arrive in your own account will vary depending on your own bank’s guidelines.
Where is LessonSpace from?
LessonSpace’s physical address is 2035 Sunset Lake Road, Suite B-2, Newark, 19702, Delaware.
Can we go on LessonSpace outside of the classroom?
Unfortunately, not through TEO. We wish it were different. We have raised the question. However, LessonSpace do have their own YouTube channel where there are tonnes or resources to show how everything works. You can find them at @lessonspace.
Are tutors supported with ‘bad’ students?
TEO is 100% behind its tutors. You are professionals and should be respected. If you receive any inappropriate messages, contact us immediately. If you are in a lesson and a student behaves inappropriately, immediately end the lesson and report it to us. They will be removed from the platform. We have a zero-tolerance policy in this regard. Students also cannot message tutors or take lessons before registering.
